Reunion at Stadlandet in 2023

Family reunion in July 2023 was arranged at Stadlandet peninsula in the north part of the West coast in Norway.

We had some great days at Stadlandet, sun shine and no wind for a week. Thanks to everyone who took part in the reunion and specially thanks to all people who have planned and made this reunion become a great success. Also thank you to all the people that helped in the kitchen and everywhere with practical help to make the reunion become like a dream.

This invitation and explanation

of why the Family Reunion was postpounded from 2020 to 2023 is something that may still stand for the future to know.

Picture

The Family Reunion 2020 is now moved to July 2023, because of the corona virus

Due to the uncertainty that still characterizes the ongoing corona pandemic, and thus also uncertainty about future infection regime, corona pass and new pandemic restrictions that may come, we unfortunately have to postpone the family reunion for the Honningsvaag family for another year.

We have therefore now moved the event to the first weekend in July 2023 - that is, the days: Friday 30. June, Saturday 1 July and Sunday 2 July.

We have reserved 20 rooms at Stad Hotel for the event. Late winter 2023, we know more exactly how many will come. Several of you will probably rent the rooms both before and / or after the family reunion. You will arrange this yourself when we know for sure that the meeting will be realized in 2023.

We regret that we once again move the event one year out in time, but the mentioned uncertainty about the pandemic's development and infection regime, forces us to have to think about the highest possible security to avoid infection and avoid quarantine for the participants in the family reunion.

We hope you understand this. Sincerely, Svein Helge, on behalf of the organizing group.

Welcome home to Honningsvaag in 2023

Kjære slekt og familie i Norge, Island, Canada, USA, Brasil og Norge:

Velkommen heim i juli 2023

Dearest family in Iceland, Canada, USA, Brasil and Norway:

Welcome Home in July 2023
The Honningsvåg/Fluevog/Erickson Family Reunion 2023 will be arranged at Stadlandet, from Friday 1th to Sunday 3rd of July.

This is the Faceboook group for the 2023 Honningsvaag / Fluevog / Erickson Family Reunion.

The reunion will take place in the small village Leikanger at Stadlandet, where it’s easy to take a drive to Honningsvaagen and to Fluevaagen.

Detailed program will show up in this Facebook group later.

Some of you might want to come a day or two in advance of the reunion, and some may want to stay a couple of days longer. That’s up to everyone to decide themselves.
We recommend those of you who haven’t seen Norway before, to take some more days and look around in the Old Country before or after the reunioen.

Where to stay
For those who need hotel room(s), we have reserved 20 hotelrooms (each with 2 beds) at the Stad Hotell. This hotel is new and a very good spot to stay. It’s easy to drive to Honningsvaagen and Fluevaagen from here.

The booking manager (Jeff Russel, from USA, who has settled down in Stadlandet). A time limit for booking rooms will come around January 2023.

Booking rooms
Make booking by email to booking@stadhotell.no or phone the hotel booking at +4794866836.

When you book room(s), use ”The Honningsvaag Reunion” as keywords.
The reunion dates are: June Friday 30th, Saturday 1th og July and Sunday 2nd of July in 2023.

How to get here
There are three main ways to come in to Stadlandet from abroad – Oslo Gardermoen airport, Bergen Flesland airport, or Aalesund Vigra airport.
At those airports you can rent cars and small buses at various car rentals.
Driving from Oslo to Leikanger at Stadlandet takes about 10 hours one way. From Bergen it takes about 6 hours and it's two ferries on this route. From Aalesund it takes about 3 hours, and there are also two ferries on this road.
The easiest way is from Oslo, but it’s also good roads from Bergen and Aalesund.

Other accomodations
If someone wants to rent privat houses or apartments on airbnb or by booking.com try to rent close to the village Leikanger. Search word is: ”Leikanger Stadlandet”.

Please help us to email this message to family members that dosen’t use Facebook.

Best regards, on behalf of the organizer group in Norway,

Svein Helge Falstad og Hans Christian Hansen
